Rocky Creek Dam
Patient nature lovers may spot a platypus at Rocky Creek Dam. The dam wall is 27 metres high, 187 metres above sea level and, when full, the dam holds 14,000 mega litres of water. The 29 square kilometres of catchment area include sections of Nightcap National Park, Whian Whian State Forest and revegetated farmland
Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens
The development of Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens is an ongoing community project. The site is located on the southern outskirts of Lismore. Over four hectares have been planted with dry, subtropical and riverine rainforest species. Work is proceeding on specialty gardens and discovery trails. The gardens are a great asset to the City of Lismore, attracting bird-watchers and educational groups as well as tourists and family groups
